Quite tired today. Busy clinic, quite a few new patients to see, back to back most of the day.

On top of that, two people got in touch today looking for an appointment, one rang, one messaged. I had to turn both down. Not because I didn’t want to help, just because I was too tired and too booked up to fit anyone else in.
It’s got me thinking I probably need a better plan for this. I do have a physio working with us, so maybe it’s about transferring more of my insurance patients across, or maybe I just need another physio on board. Not entirely sure yet what the right answer is, but something needs to give.
Being this busy is good, obviously, it’s good financially, and I’m not complaining about that. But some days it just catches up with you and you feel it. Most of the time though, I genuinely enjoy the work, and seeing patients is good. Full stop.
There’s a bit of guilt in there too, if I’m honest. It’s a strange kind of vicious circle. I feel good that the clinic is doing well, that people want to see me, that they’re ringing up wanting appointments. But something’s being sacrificed, and I think it’s time with my son. He’s seven, turning eight in October. I wanted to take him to football today but couldn’t, so Runa took him instead. That gets to me a bit. By the time I get home I’m often too tired to really play with him properly, even though he wants to.
I don’t think I’m always like this, it’s probably been more the last couple of days. Clinic’s been particularly busy, I’m juggling a lot, and it doesn’t help that it’s school holidays, so he’s home all day rather than at school. Once term starts again it’ll probably be a different picture altogether.
